The Vikings had a wide range of painful punishments.

Warning, they are not to be used on humans today. Don’t try these at home!

Revolting Rat Torture

Rat torture is the worst torture Vikings had in their history. They would start by putting a Rat on your body and it would eat all of your insides. You would be mistaken for thinking that this Rat is a normal Rat. NO,NO ,NO, it was a diseased Rat.

Ordeal by fire

The Vikings made people walk 9 paces carrying boiling, scorching and hot iron pieces. The Christians introduced this to the Vikings as way of deciding the truth.

A second punishment to do with fire was to walk 12 paces on red hot iron . This was used to prove innocence if after 3 days the feet were inspected and the wounds were found clear they were considered innocent.
